Machinist/Quality Technician ApprenticeThis is an "Earn and Learn" PositionYes, you get paid to learn a new career!The Machinist/Quality Technician Apprentice works directly with fellow Quality Inspector and the Machine Shop Supervisor with day to day tasks and special assignments as needed. We are looking for a hard-working, high-character and reliable applicant. Our people are not trained to be just button pushers. We will train the right candidate to learn CNC programming, machine set up, inspecting one-or-more-piece jobs using state of the art measuring equipment and technologies.Duties and Responsibilities: Assists Quality Inspector and Machinists with day to day operations of the machine shop. Train to setup and operate Precision Measuring Equipment and CNC and Manual Machines. Training and basic operation of machines under the direction of the Quality Inspector/Machinist. Other duties as assigned related to training and background.Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. *Must be willing to learn and take pride in your accomplishments. * This position requires 140 hours of technical training and 2000 hours of "on-the-job-training" per year for 3 years. You will receive pay increases as your skills progress. This is a great path to an Associates Degree if you choose. All training is paid for by the employer. Possess good mechanical aptitude. Work well as a Team. Computer skills for practical use with E-mail and software programsCandidate will Learn: CAD, CAM, G&M Coding, Speeds & Feeds, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Blueprint Reading, Lay-out, Precision Measurement, Set-up & Fixturing as well as safe operation of Mills, Lathes, Lasers, Routers, 3-D Printers, Robotics and much more high tech equipment.We are looking for a focused, mature, highly organized person to fill this position.
