The Associate Vice President of Development (AVP) at Ohio University reports to the Vice President of University Advancement and President & CEO of The Ohio University Foundation (VP) and is a member of the Advancement senior leadership team. He/she is responsible for implementing a comprehensive development and philanthropy program that successfully meets Ohio University and school/unit goals and contributes to the overall growth of private philanthropy.
The AVP is responsible for working closely with the central fundraising staff, schools, deans, faculties, and other university units in articulating and implementing plans, goals, and activities related to fund-development. The AVP also is responsible for establishing performance and promotion standards for gift officers, developing a culture of goal achievement and accountability, and leading the process for setting ambitious annual goals for the University's unit based fundraisers. The AVP also will have responsibility for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a group of select prospects.
Ohio University Advancement is searching for a candidate who possesses a Bachelor's degree, eight years of experience in Advancement, Donor Relations/Stewardship, and five years management experience. OHIO recognizes the skills to perform in this position may be obtained through experiences other than those listed, so an equivalent combination of education and related experience will also be considered.
