A diversified, privately held, Ohio-based holding company is seeking a dynamic Vice President, Real Estate and Development, to join its executive team.

This role is responsible for seeking out new real estate business development opportunities. Develops, coordinates, and implements marketing plans to identify and capture new business opportunities that maximize utilization and revenue from existing and acquired real estate holdings. Assists the President in positioning the company for competitive advantage and success. Identifies desired end results and develops strategies and tactics to reach those objectives. Performs related functions as required by senior management.

Qualified candidates will have a proven history in real estate development and property management, with a background in finance, construction, architecture, or engineering. The VPRE contributes to the ongoing development of the company's vision, strategy, and organizational improvement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

  • Lead all sales and marketing efforts across the company's revenue centers, responsible for pitching, promotion, responsiveness, selling, and closing deals.
  • Represent the company at networking and business events, maintaining strong client relationships and participating in community and economic development activities.
  • Oversee staffing, development, training, and retention of the business development and property management teams, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Develop management programs for business development, property acquisition, development, and lease portfolio management.
  • Conduct public presentations and prepare or review business materials and formal briefings for leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts, including senior leadership, external auditors, consultants, and investment firms.
  • Lead responses to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Collaborate with the President and senior management to align with strategic goals.

Acquisition

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of potential project sites and properties.
  • Participate in negotiations and closing of real estate transactions.
  • Position acquired properties for development, construction, or rehabilitation to generate revenue quickly.

Development

  • Coordinate architectural efforts and development team contracts.
  • Oversee financial analysis, due diligence, investment presentations, and community support initiatives.
  • Secure pre-development, construction, and permanent financing from public and private sources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven leadership and management experience in real estate portfolios.
  • Experience with acquisitions and property development.
  • Understanding of leasing, design, finance, legal, construction, and operations principles.
  • Experience managing capital project budgets.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., ProContractor, Appfolio).
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience preferred.
