Position Type:Service PersonnelDate Posted:11/21/2025Location:Supply ManagementClosing Date:12/01/2025County:Kanawha County Public Schools Additional Information: Show/HidePOSITION: Warehouse CoordinatorIMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Purchasing and Supply ManagementFLSASTATUS: Non-exemptEMPLOYMENT TERM: Minimum 261 days annuallySALARY: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-8a, in accordance with Kanawha County Salary Scale, Pay Grade F1/G commensurate with experience and education level.EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by the immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5314, and KCS's Guide to Performance Evaluation for Service Personnel.JOB SUMMARY: Provides secretarial assistance to department and administrators and assigned buyers by typing purchase orders, collecting and organizing information, and performing delegated tasks thereby ensuring that materials and services can be efficiently provided in support of the district's education programs.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties may be assigned.* Process requisitions for buyers to create purchase orders in a prompt and timely manner.* Audit purchase orders to ensure that price extensions and total are correct before they are released to vendor. Proof purchase order against buyer requisition to ensure correct descriptions.* Types correspondence for department administrators as needed* Serves as backup to administrative secretary if required.* Generally familiar with duties of all other clerical functions to be able to serve as a substitute if needed.* Serves as telephone backup to various stations as needed.* Expedites all warehouse receiving and purchase orders. Coordinates and resolves shortages over shipments, damages and works with the buying staff in conjunction when necessary.* Provides assistance to buyers with filing, vendor identification, tabulations and other clerical tasks if required.* Maintains expediting file, communicates with accounts payable when needed. Becomes familiar with the purchasing and warehouse operations.* Provides secretarial duties and communication for the warehouse supervisor and supply management.* Maintains regular attendance.* Maintains a neat and orderly work area.* Complies with KCS Policies.* Complete necessary training and in-service as required by KCS.* Receives permission from building principal/supervisor to work in excess of 40 hours per week.* Attends in-services and workshops as directed.* Follows all safety rules and regulations and uses prescribed personal protective equipment.* Maintains confidentiality.* Continuously improves processes.QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent, pursuant to WV Code §18A-2-5; Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c; Meet the definition of "Qualifications" in WV Code §18A-4-8b; demonstrated competency, pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-8e (state-approved competency test) as required. Business training or varied office experience desirable. Emphasis in business education or office practices. In addition to being an above average typist must be capable of turning out error free copies, have a basic knowledge of office procedures is also required. Must be proficient in the use of state of art word processing equipment. Knowledge of WVEIS financial management, purchasing and warehouse system.
