Custodian Position

Requirements: Previous custodial experience required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have reliable transportation. Position requires regular standing and walking, as well as frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds. Judgment must be used if items weigh over 25 pounds. Additional Information Work may be at varying locations.

Job Description: The Custodian keeps premises of office building, apartment house, or other commercial or institutional building in clean and orderly condition. Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas. Sweeps, and scrubs the floor. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dusts furniture and equipment. Washes windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to the disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Sweep and pick up trash on the parking lot and entrances or as specified by contract. Cleans all sinks, commodes, and mirrors. Maintain janitorial equipment and supplies to ensure economical use thereof. Other duties as assigned. Pay is $10.00 an hour. Part-time position. Evening shifts available.
