Description:

Summary:
Material handlers needed for an Athens, Ohio manufacturer. The primary role of the material handler is to maintain and manage the raw in process (RIP) and point of use storage (POUS) inventory flow.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain RIP inventory flow and accuracy
    • Re-Pack parts as needed into RIP storage containers
    • Move parts to resupply RIP after Receiving and Inspection
    • Initiate replenishment of items not triggered by ERP or Vendor
  • Support Pack and Clean operations as needed to maintain RIP inventory
  • Resupply POUS racks daily
    • Collect empty containers during POUS route
    • Fill POUS containers as directed by PFEP or label
    • Resupply POUS items without container as needed to keep POUS full
  • Manage Scrap material flow
  • Accurate and timely transactions in ERP for all material moves.
  • Manage waste materials from RIP and POUS as needed to support Zero Waste plan
  • Collect and manage returnable containers from RIP and POUS for return shipment to suppliers
  • Perform daily or weekly cycle counts of materials, package, and finished goods and then entering that data into an ERP system for tracking.
This is a temporary-to-direct, full-time position, hiring immediately. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6 AM to 4:45PM. Pay starts at $15 per hour. If hired on direct, this company offers full benefits.

Qualifications:
  • Good communication skills, maintain cooperative relationship with team members.
  • Must be able to operate forklift and similar material handling equipment
  • Must be able to accurately perform transaction into software systems to support inventory control
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Technical degree or certification
  • 1 year production materials handling experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ascend and/or descend ladders.
  • Must be able to bend, squat twist or turn multiple times a day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique.
  • Must be able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate tools and parts.
  • Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
