Department Summary

This position supports university parking operations during special events by providing front-line and on-site customer service, traffic control, and operational support to ensure a welcoming experience for event attendees, university guests, faculty, staff, and students. Greets customers, offers general parking & directional assistance, and addresses customer inquiries. Monitors parking areas to ensure efficient use of space. Directs vehicles to available parking spaces to maintain traffic flow and provides clear and courteous guidance for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Operates handheld devices for parking verification or payment collection as applicable. May assist with setup and breakdown of event-related equipment. Reports any safety issues, equipment concerns or policy violations to supervisor on duty.

Position will require walking and standing and most work will be conducted outdoors in all weather conditions.

Position Profile

Monitors campus transportation and parking activities and compliance with established policies. Responsible for overseeing permit parking, parking enforcement, event transportation, business transportation, campus transit service, safety and training, and facility and operations maintenance.

Reflects most common entry point for career track. Performs a relatively small number of tasks/duties from clearly described rules and specific instructions. May supervise or oversee the work of student employees.

No formal supervisory responsibilities. May guide or mentor student employees.

Work under close supervision with limited decision-making authority.

Communicates with internal teams and customers, often with direct supervision.

Physical Requirements

Requires a range of physical activities. Positions may require driving, standing, walking through parking facilities, and/or ascending stairs or ramps.

Position will require walking and standing and most work will be performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic knowledge of job functions, requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Certain positions may require Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Fully salary range is $11.60 - $17.40 per hour and the target salary range is $11.60 - $14.50 per hour commensurate with education and experience.
