Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support financial operations and reporting for a growing business. This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-office meetings in Columbus, Ohio as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience with cost analysis and reporting, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and maintain cost accounting records and financial data
• Monitor expenses, budgets, and cost trends
• Prepare monthly financial and operational reports
• Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Review and improve internal accounting processes and controls
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Collaborate with leadership on financial reporting and operational insights
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1+ years of accounting or cost accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage priorities independently in a remote work environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Manufacturing, operations, or project-based accounting experience
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools
