A mission?driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Finance & Office Assistant to provide part?time support to a small, collaborative finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organized systems, accurate financial processes, and helping teams stay on track during busy periods.

Position Overview

The Finance & Office Assistant provides administrative and financial support in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general office operations. The role helps ensure smooth financial workflows during times of high volume and tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
  • Gather documentation needed for grant invoicing.
  • Communicate with internal staff and external partners to collect required support documents.
  • Resolve coding questions with staff before compiling invoicing materials.
  • Manage invoicing and follow?up for rented storage units.
  • Post deposits from online event platforms.
Accounts Payable
  • Match support documentation to checks, prepare them for signature, and organize mailing and filing.
  • Review credit card receipts and follow up on missing documentation.
  • Assist with filing and maintaining confidential financial records, including contractor forms.
General Office Support
  • Check and distribute incoming mail; prepare outgoing mail.
  • Log incoming checks, make copies, and secure them for processing.
  • Assist with mailings, event preparation, file management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

This is a direct-hire, part-time position, hiring immediately. The schedule is somewhat flexible, up to 20 hours per week, during standard weekday business hours. Pay is $20 per hour. With this role being part-time, benefits are not available.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to resolve finance?related questions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, email, and general computer systems.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing daily needs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
