This role encompasses core functions in the distribution center on a rotating basis, such as picking, packing, building orders for shipment, shipping, VAS/Returns, and related activities.Essential DutiesPick and pack orders for various types of customers, referring to the pick ticket for any special instructions.Build large freight orders onto pallets within customer's and freight forwarder height restrictions, and verify that orders are complete and accurate prior to shipping.Ship orders following instructions on pick ticket, paying special attention to the shipping method and any special shipping instructions.Generate shipping labels, carton content labels and packing lists; apply them consistently as directed by the Shipping Manager or Shipping Supervisor.Follow the Customer's Vendor Guide for specific picking, packing and shipping instructions.Assist loading outbound trucks and the dock as needed and directed.Provide value added services such as hangers, price tags, etc.Assist in stocking replenishment as determined by the supervisor, lead, or manager.Willingness to help out in other departments when needed, as directed by supervisor, lead, or manager.Open and clear communication is key: communicate with supervisor or manager when issues arise or clarification is needed.Maintain a professional attitude, productivity standards, and a clean and safe work environment.Follow all safety procedures and report safety infractions.Participate in the annual physical inventory counts.Perform housekeeping responsibilities as assigned by Shipping Manager or Supervisors.Work effectively in a team environment and remain flexible in a changing work environment.Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent.Preferred: 6 months to 1 year experience in distribution functions (not required).Basic problem-solving skills and organization.Good verbal and written communication skills.PC skills.Commit to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co‑workers, customers and vendors.Physical and Mental Functioning RequirementsSitStandUse handsStoopReach with handsHold/work with objects using handsWalkTalk/hearClimbLift/carry up to 10 lbsLift/carry up to 20 lbsLift/carry up to 50 lbsLift/carry up to 75 lbsLift/carry up to 100 lbsWork near moving mechanical partsWork near fumes or airborne particlesClose vision (clear vision 20 inch or less)Distance vision (clear vision 10 ft away or more)Color vision (ability to identify color)Analyze dataInterpret dataClimb laddersEmployee Core ValuesTruth – We find unity in our diversity.
