Description:

Administrative Officer

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist managers and staff in projecting staffing needs, writing position descriptions, developing job analyses, preparing performance plans and appraisals.
  • Drafts disciplinary and adverse actions, special leave requests, performance and incentive awards related to employee and labor relations issues within the Service, final authority resting with the Chief.
  • Discusses, investigates and responds to employee grievances and dissatisfactions to resolve conflicts.
  • Plan a system of internal controls that ensures the fiscal management of the EMS is maintained on a sound basis.
  • Responsible for formulation and execution of annual budget including salaries, travel, supplies, equipment and all other general operating expenses.
  • Assembles and compiles budget information and oversees the running account of funds allocated and expended in all sub accounts.
  • Makes interim adjustments where necessary by applying knowledge and understanding of budgetary policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0800-1630

Telework: This position may be authorized for telework on an Ad-hoc basis.
