The incumbent of this position will be assigned to the Business Services Center (BSC) Finance, Human Resources, or Support Services Office. Duties include, but are not limited to:
The ideal candidate will have experience using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook; exceptional customer service skills; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a part of a team; strong written and verbal communication skills.
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected that NY HELPS employees will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to take an exam. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
The Business Services Center (BSC) was established in September 2012 to make Human Resources and Finance transaction processing consistent across New York State government agencies. Since its inception, the BSC has increased efficiency and lowered costs across the state.
