Assembler

The Assembler plays a key role in building high-quality products in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. In this role, you carefully follow work orders and engineering specifications to assemble mechanical and electrical components, operate a variety of hand and power tools, and ensure that each unit meets strict quality and safety standards before moving to the next stage of production.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and consistently use required safety equipment in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Review work orders to understand product specifications, requirements, and assembly steps before starting work.
• Visually inspect components and completed units during assembly to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
• Select and assemble parts in the correct sequence using tools such as drills, rivets, screws, braces, and tape to meet design requirements.
• Install appropriate sub-assemblies and component parts in each unit based on engineering and design specifications.
• Apply wiring harnesses, sensors, and other electrical components in cabinets as specified in work instructions and diagrams.
• Operate a variety of tools including hand tools, drill, rivet gun, saw, hy-pot tester, hacksaw, and drill press safely and effectively.
• Complete all assembly processes in the prescribed sequence to maintain product integrity and production flow.
• Ensure completed units meet established quality standards before moving them to the next workstation or production stage.
• Perform cabinet foaming according to engineering specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Read and follow work instructions, labels, and part numbers accurately to avoid assembly errors.
• Use tape measures and other basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and proper fit of parts and assemblies.
• Conduct basic inspection of parts and assemblies to identify defects or issues and report them promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized immediate work area on a daily basis to support safety and efficiency.
• Handle bulky parts and materials, including frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds, while standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production goals and adjust to changing priorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support manufacturing, general labor, and production needs.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills or a strong willingness to learn and use computer systems related to manufacturing and work instructions.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated product assembly.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and handle bulky parts safely.
• Comfort with standing, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks for the duration of the shift.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools such as drills, rivet guns, saws, hacksaws, and drill presses.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
• Attention to detail in visual inspection of components and completed units to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work on an assembly line or in a production environment while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
• Willingness to work required overtime after shifts when production is behind.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and follow wiring diagrams and blueprints as outlined in standard operating procedures.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, including building furniture, installations, or similar hands-on work.
• Background in manufacturing, construction, installations, maintenance, auto repair, farm work, or general labor is highly relevant.
• Experience using tape measures and basic measuring tools in a production or construction environment.
• Familiarity with inspection practices to check parts and assemblies for defects or nonconformance.
• Prior manufacturing experience beyond the minimum is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new tools, processes, and equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a production environment with defined processes and quality standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on assembly line and production work. You work with a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, rivet guns, saws, hacksaws, drill presses, and testing equipment such as hy-pot testers. The position involves standing, bending, reaching, and handling bulky parts throughout the shift, with frequent lifting of up to 35 pounds. Most roles follow a first-shift schedule around early morning to mid-afternoon, while additional positions are available on a second-shift schedule from mid-afternoon to late evening. Overtime after the regular shift may be required when production is behind, typically ranging from several hours per week. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to work instructions, with organized workstations and daily housekeeping of the immediate work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beverly, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
