Washington Electric Cooperative, Inc. (WEC), a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative in Marietta, Ohio, seeks candidates for the full-time position of Engineering Coordinator.
Under the direction of the director of engineering, the engineering coordinator assists co-op members with questions related to new and existing electrical services, schedules appointments for field/staking engineers to meet with members and builders in the field, assists with obtaining and recording right-of-way easements, and tracks invoices and contracts related to contractors.
The engineering coordinator will also perform on-call dispatching duties outside of normal working hours on a rotation with other dispatchers, and provide support during major power outages.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related topic preferred. Three years’ office/administrative experience required; five years’ in electrical utility or a directly related field preferred.
Additional requirements include the ability to communicate effectively, comprehensive knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office products, and willingness to learn new software. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record, and conform to the cooperative’s drug-free workplace policy.
